Starting in the capital city of Indianapolis, you will find a number of incredible event venues. Probably most well known in the city is the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom, resembling a quaint European village with a soaring 30-foot ceiling adorned with a starry blue night sky and shimmering crescent moon. Known simply as the “Roof,” this historic and elegant venue hs been in in Indianapolis since 1927. Dreamed up by Edgar O. Hunter and Preston Rubush, its European village-inspired design features painted grape vines, ornate woodwork, and a domed ceiling resembling a starry night sky. With an 8,700 square foot circular dance floor, the Roof has hosted iconic events and celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Elton John, and Frank Sinatra. From corporate events to weddings, the Roof's grandeur is evident in its crystal chandeliers, eye-catching drapery, and impressive audio-visual elements, making it the go-to place for exclusive gatherings in Indianapolis. With a capacity of 100 – 1,500 people the Indiana Roof Ballroom is a one-of-a-kind venue for your next event. It is time for you to become a part of Indiana history!
The Crane Bay Event Center, originally a potbelly stove factory in the 1800s and later a GM manufacturing site for locomotive engine parts, was transformed into a trendy event venue by Gary Padgen. The venue gained recognition after successfully hosting the Rolling Stone Bacardi Bash before Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. Named for the hanging cranes used during its factory days, these manually operable cranes serve as unique displays for food, beverages, and decor. The 18,000 square feet of open space, designed for factory needs, is now a versatile event venue that can be divided with an in-house draping system. With its progressive layout, The Crane Bay allows for seamless transitions between cocktail receptions, dining, and dancing, providing a unique experience for guests. Located in the heart of downtown, The Crane Bay, paired with Crystal Signature Events, stands as Indianapolis' premier modern event and wedding venue.
Built in 1906, the N.K. Hurst Co. Inc. building served various purposes, starting as a printing company and later used by Kroger as a produce warehouse. Acquired by N.K. Hurst Co. Inc. in 1947, it became the headquarters, office spaces, and packaging center for dried beans, peas, lentils, and sweeteners. The company sells and distributes dried beans nationally and to the U.S. Military. In 2017, bean packaging moved to a new facility, initiating the transformation of the space into The Heirloom at N.K. Hurst. The Heirloom is an event center with a historic industrial aesthetic. Featuring original brick walls, polished wood floors, and exposed wood beams, the venue offers skyline views, outdoor terrace space, and turnkey amenities. With adaptable spaces capable of hosting up to 600 standing or 325 seated guests, The Heirloom promises memorable events with thoughtful cuisine and meticulous attention to detail.
Whether a repurposed building with cutting edge amenities or the beauty of ornate architectural features that will stun your guests, choose a venue that tells your story. A historic event venue can be the perfect backdrop for your next memorable event.
